Document requirements for family reunion visa

Documents can be submitted:

- in person

If the applicant has already provided his own fingerprints can delegate another person to submit his visa application only in the following cases:
– by one of the family members with the documents confirming a relationship (marriage certificate for spouses, birth certificate for parents and children) — in original in and copy.
– if an applicant is living outside Moscow and the Moscow region documents can be submitted either by the applicant in person or by a person acting under the power of attorney. Authorized representatives should present the following documents: notarized power of attorney (original and 3 copies), 3 copies of national or international passport.

For applicants living in Moscow and Moscow region documents can not be submitted by a person acting under the power of attorney.

Effective from 06.08.2013, Tourist type “C” visas are issued for what was once the “Family reunion visa” (given the inviting person is an EU citizen).

1. Invitation letter.
If the  inviting person is not an EU citizen, the applicant should provide a Nulla Osta( no objection) for that type of visa. Official authorization is issued by the relevant Italian Immigration Office (Sportello Unico Immigrazione). The Nulla Osta ( no objection) is valid only for a period of up to 3 months from the date of issue. (original + copy)

If the inviting person is not an EU-citizen a copy of his/ hers  permit of stay should be provided.

If the inviting person is an EU-citizen a copy of his/ hers identity card should be provided.  

2. Civil registry documents (Original + Copy) or other appropriate documentation duly certified by Local Authorities proving the family relationship with the applicant. The civil registry documents are to be legalized. In case of visa application for a minor, please include the parent’s consent duly signed by the parent who is not travelling with the child.

3. Copy of applicant’s passport page containing holder’s data and validity.

4. Application form with a recent passport size photograph.
Application form should be filled in block letters in English or Italian and duly signed. If the applicant is under 18 years of age, the form must be signed by both parents.
Photo specifications
Color photo on white background, 3x4cm or 3,5×4,5 cm.
If applying for Family Reunion visa with EU citizen residing in Italy or an Italian citizen an applicant should fill application form type “C”.
If applying for Family Reunion visa with a person possessing “resident permit” an applicant should fill application form type “D”.

6. Deposit slip from the bank as proof of payment of Consular fees (Banca Intesa).
Visa type “D” – 116 euro (No exemptions from visa fee)
Visa type “C” – free of charge

7. Domestic passport (Russian Nationals).

8. Consent for processing the personal data. 

For each applicant including child a separate form of the consent for processing personal data in original is required. For applicants under 18 years old consent is filled and signed by one of the parents or legal guardian indicating his data in corresponding field. Consent can be both handwritten or filled on computer.
