Exemptions for visa fee

The following categories of applicants are exempt from the visa fee (only applying for “C” category visa):

– close relatives of citizens of the European Union & Swiss Confederation defined in article 2, act №30/2007 of EC directives №2004/38/EC: spouses, partner to whom the citizen of EU got married in accordance with legislation of host state, ascendants at expense and these ones of spouses and partners, descendants under 21 years or descendants at expense and these ones of spouses and partners;
– close relatives: spouses, children (including adopted children), parents (including custodians), grandparents and grandchildren of citizens of the Russian Federation legally residing (having residence permit) on the territory of the European Union except Swiss Confederation (in accordance with provisions of article 6 Agreement between the European Union and the Russian Federation on simlification of issuing of visas).

In both cases it is necessary to provide documents confirming the relationship (birth, marriage certificates etc. as applicable) with person residing in the EU or person holding a valid permit of stay and a copy of the passport or a copy of the residence permit in the EU, respectively.

For the citizens of: Russian Federation, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and Ukraine (Except Biometric passports) visa fee is not required for the following categories (only applying for “C” category visa):

– close relatives of citizens of the European Union & Swiss Confederation;
– children under the age of 6 at the time of the document submission;
– disabled person (all disability categories with original and copy of certificate of disability) and 1 accompanying person (accompanying person must be of legal age);
– participants of the youth international sports events and accompanying persons;
– for participants in official exchange programmes organised by twin cities.

For all other country nationals visa fee is not required for the following categories (only applying for “C” category visa):

– close relatives of citizens of the European Union & Swiss Confederation;
– children under the age of 6 at the time of the document submission.
